Dear District 5 Residents,

I recently came across a quote from Neetal Parekh that I really resonated with. Parekh stated, “We are here but for a second, but our impact ripples through time.”

This week I want to highlight a few ways that my office is working hard to create more positive ripples and truly benefit our community within the 5th district. Through providing grants nonprofits, we will create more positive ripples throughout the community.

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) has been a huge help to nonprofits during the pandemic. These funds have enabled organizations to provide essential services and support their employees during these difficult times. As such, it is important for nonprofits to stay up to date on the latest developments with ARPA funding and how to apply for these funds through our office.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has also allocated $1,000,000 in funding to the COVID-19 Community Improvement Designation (CID) Fund to support pandemic relief efforts undertaken by nonprofits organizations.

Grants will be provided to eligible nonprofits providing direct relief services and/or serving populations disproportionally impacted by the pandemic. The Board of Supervisors in compliance with U.S Department of Treasury guidelines has established funding objectives for this grant opportunity.

To see if your nonprofit qualifies for these grants, please visit my District 5 website at https://rivcodistrict5.org and click on the “Grants and Sponsorships” tab at the top of the page.

Thank you once again for your support.
